Thank you Leolaia for posting this information. Rutherford was certainly a real piece of work. It proves to me that no one, no matter how sincere will ever change what the WTBTS really is. Seventy + years later and it is still being run by tyrants in a dictatorial manner and cannot be changed. Trying to change it from within will never happen and any who are sincere in their motives will only be demonized by the leadership. It is not surprising that the leaders would like to bury the truth but thankfully to the internet and hard work by ones such as yourself, what has been hidden is being brought out in the open. Thx again,Leslie

Rutherford's smear campaign (a must read)
by Leolaia inthere has been some interest recently about the moyle case, and how it may have set a precident in what became the society's disfellowshipping policy.
in july 1939, the chief legal counsel of the watchtower bible & tract society, olin r. moyle, resigned from his position in a protest over conditions at bethel and rutherford's mistreatment of workers.
he did not want to continue living under those conditions and he felt he could effect positive change for his brothers by taking such a stand.

Our CO Visit was a Fund Raising Drive
by Red Piller inso, we had our new co (who actually seemed nice and somewhat personable in his own way.).
he gave a talk titled something like "do we sacrifice to jehovah?
"(can't remember the exact title.

The old guilt trip hasn't changed much. Even little (insert name here) has given his allowance blah, blah, blah. Why they need more $$$ for printing presses, ink and paper is beyond me, since they have cut the Watchtower and Awake sizes, and have them available on-line, with the Dubs paying their own paper and ink costs. Smoke screen? What they really need money for is probably to pay out on lawsuits, building new digs in upstate NY, etc. Money-grubbing cult! Leslie

Stop fighting about Oompa.
by Robert7 ini am writing this because i am so upset about the bickering and fighting that is going on about oompa.
this was an amazing wonderful, peaceful, giving man who never met a strager who is now deceased and you are taking his name and running all over the place with it using it for your own agendas.
he is not a statistic.

Sincerest Sympathy Stacey (Wes).
You did your best and gave your all. Oompa was blessed to have you in his life. Sometimes no matter how hard we try, we just can't save someone from themselves. You can't watch someone 24/7 and when you get them into a hospital and they let them out there is not much you can do. The medical system failed him, not you. Draw comfort from friends and in knowing that this dear man is no longer suffering. Leslie

I was HAPPY as a JW! How did I end up here? Pt 2
by MC RubberMallet incontinuation of... http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/239292/5/i-was-happy-as-a-jw-how-did-i-get-here.

MC Rubber Mallet I just finished reading part 1 & now this. WOW! The hypocrisy in the organization was a big thing for me, leading to my exit. I think it says a lot about a person's character when you just can't turn a blind eye to things you know in your heart are just not right. I started questioning the hypocrisy of JW's criticising other religions when they are guilty of the same thing. They have an answer (excuse) for everything. I LOVED your point re: waiting on Jehovah. Priceless! Leslie (looking forward to Part 3)

TruJw: ROFLMAO! I know, where are all those miserable unhappy Christmas celebrators. Oh please don't ask me to read 8 Wt's to re-educate myself, I'd rather poke my eyes out or find a priest and agree to 10 Hail Mary's. -Leslie

So glad you asked! lol
The first one in 2004 went all out cuz I thought I was doomed anyway, so may as well go down in flames.
Then realized there is nothing wrong if I want to celebrate. So I follow in the footsteps of Clark Griswold in Christmas Vacation, and go all out. My hubby (never a JW) loves all the decor and seeing my enthusiasm. I am like a little kid. Love the lights, prezzies, and most of all the big X-mas dinner with friends. I love X-mas music and now have a collection of CD's.
My hubby and I donate to the local Food Drive and have a family that we help with $ so they can give the kids a great X-mas. I wear my Santa hat around X-mas and try to spread as much joy as I can. It feels fantastic.Leslie

Teenage son's last WT comment. Major sphincter puckering on my part.
by Open mind ini thought maybe some of us might enjoy something light-hearted to start the week off.
at dinner last night my teenage son reminded me of the last kh meeting he attended with me about a year ago.
he is a big fan of christopher hitchins and self-identifies as an atheist.

Oh Oompa Saw this post first thing this morning. It is a sad, sad, time. I never had the privilege of exchanging thoughts with him on the forum. I followed his struggle while lurking. My heart hurts that he felt this was the only way to escape the pain. I have cried tears of sorrow for him especially after seeing his photo and learning of the method of his passing. Gone too soon.
May you Rest in Peace, Eric
